in tali amore

He wore skinny jeans and collared sweaters,

with sleeves long enough to cover the wretchedness that hid his arms,

He looked for him wherever he went,

but he couldn’t seem to find the love he deserved,

the love that made his heart weak and giddy,

because all he got in return was a heart that was weak indeed,

but giddy with fear,

along with a bloody nose and bruised ribs,

maybe a black eye or two,

but that would be considered a good day.

Sadly,

the boy lived in a world,

where nobody understood the way he loved,

ironically,

he understood the way everyone else did.

One evening,

he found himself on top of the world,

he looked down and smiled softly,

“I found him.”

and drifted off the edge of what we wanted him to be,

but to us,

that edge was just a building,

and in the end,

all love did,

was watch,

while society laughed.
